Do you like white clothes?

August 16th, 2007

No, I don’t. I rarely wear any of those. I believe it’s mainly due to my mother’s influence. She hates white clothes because… well, you know, they get dirty so fast, and for a housewife that may be quite a problem. I’m not a housewife, yet I agree with mom and this is why I avoid white clothing as much as possible.

When will you get married?

August 13th, 2007

Hopefully, I never will.

I don’t want to get married. I’m not interested in it. If other people think getting married is a good idea, that’s all right with me. But if they want me to agree with them, that’s all wrong.

What do you think of Harry Potter?

August 8th, 2007

I know this is going to sound completely unbelievable, but it’s been around 18 months since I bought volumes 1 to 6 and… I still haven’t read any of them. So I don’t have an opinion on Harry Potter so far. Of course I’m going to read everything someday. After all, I have spent my money on those books. Moreover, with so many Harry Potter fans out there, it’s always good to be able to chat about the plot and the characters.

Why do you like pets so much?

August 3rd, 2007

Because they’re often more trustworthy than human beings.

Because their love is sincere.

Because they’re cute.

Because they’re creations of God, just like all of us.

Because they’re utterly adorable.

Why haven’t you posted anything on 07/07/07?

July 27th, 2007

Hmmm… I… don’t know. Haven’t I posted anything that day? Let me see… hey! I did post something on 07/07/07! All right, it wasn’t a special post celebrating the magic behind a date featuring so many number sevens at once, but still… it’s there.

Today we also have several number sevens, although there’s a number two on it as well and it may look rather distracting. Or maybe not, if we also count that other number two on “2007″. In this case, the zeros might be the distracting items.

Silent visitors

July 23rd, 2007

This blog has been working nicely for me so far. The only thing that still worries me a bit is what my readers may think on the fact that comments aren’t allowed here (yet).

My entries are personal (and pretty silly most times), so I don’t see why one would want to comment on them. Therefore I intentionally make my visitors remain silent. On the other hand, I know many people who criticise blog owners that don’t allow comments.

Maybe the lack of a comment form makes this blog less appealing than it could be. Nonetheless, it seems to be already appealing in some way, otherwise I’d never have gotten a single visitor.

Love songs - part V

July 19th, 2007

The previous posts shouldn’t be interpreted as a “campaign against love songs”. This wouldn’t make sense. Songwriters are free to write about whatever they please. Moreover, I do listen to love songs, and I agree that many of them are truly beautiful. I just think composers should try to be a bit more creative and experiment with other subjects. Variety is good.

Love songs - part IV

July 16th, 2007

An obvious example of an universal yet neglected subject: parental love. One might argue that many composers dedicate their pieces to their children, and go ahead mentioning several related song titles. But it wouldn’t change the fact that this kind of song belongs to the minority. Romantic and/or carnal love is still the major theme. Should I assume one’s lovers are more important than their children? I hope that’s not the case.

Love songs - part III

July 12th, 2007

Love is an universal feeling. It’s only natural (and desirable) that this fact is reflected in so many songs. At least this is what the romantic ones might claim. Not that I disagree. I just think there are TOO MANY love songs. There are many other universal feelings and natural things in life, but most of them remain overlooked by songwriters.

Love songs - part II

July 7th, 2007

I know there has always been love songs, even in times when people didn’t make music to get rich and famous. I also know many songwriters are sincere when they express tender feelings in their pieces. I should also add that some of the insincere ones are quite successful as well, that is, they may not give a damn for love, but still they manage to convince us of the contrary.
